About The Position
We are seeking Medical Assistants who are passionate about making a difference in our community. Our Medical Assistants perform a variety of duties, both clerical and assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a licensed medical and or licensed nursing professional. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Nice To Haves
- Certification as a Medical Assistant received from a certifying body recognized by Lone Star Circle of Care in its reasonable discretion
- Prior professional experience as a Medical Assistant
- Previous work using electronic medical records (EMR)
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
- The ability to problem solve

Responsibilities
- Obtain and document patient history, patient communication, and clinical treatment accurately and appropriately
- Obtain and measure vital signs and document information on patients' charts and maintain examination/treatment rooms, including cleaning and sterilizing instruments, and keeping inventory of medical supplies and materials
- Perform routine diagnostic and laboratory tests And administer medications as ordered by licensed medical and/or licensed nursing staff
- Explain treatment procedures to patients under the direction of licensed medical and/or licensed nursing staff
