About The Position

Clinic Medical Assistant Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Rogue Valley Manor is proud to be Southern Oregon’s premier not-for-profit Life Plan Community. The Manor is a thriving, bustling village of nearly 1,000 incredible residents, with a sprawling, magnificent 668-acre campus that’s full of active, engaging ways for residents to spend their time. Our campus offers residents delicious dining and a continuum of healthcare including an on-site ambulatory clinic, Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing. Our internal medicine clinic is a patient-centered clinic focused on providing comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to adult patients. We treat a wide range of chronic and acute medical conditions, with an emphasis on preventive health and long-term wellness. Our team is committed to building lasting relationships with patients while maintaining a supportive and respectful work environment. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our internal medicine team. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for helping adult patients manage their health. You’ll support our physicians and nurse practitioners in delivering high-quality care through a combination of administrative and clinical duties. Requirements

  • Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and successfully have passed the CMA exam from the American Association of Medical Assistant (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT) certification exams for medical assistants. Certification preferred but not required.
  • Current and valid CPR certification.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and electronic health records.
  • Effective organizational skills to manage schedules, coordinate services, and ensure that all necessary documentation and paperwork are completed accurately and on time.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, verify personal and medical information, and prepare them for examination.
  • Support physicians or nurses during examinations and minor medical procedures.
  • Provide patients with instructions regarding medications, treatments, or procedures as directed by the provider.
  • Measure and record vital signs, collect specimens, administer medications and vaccinations as directed and under supervision when required.
  • Coordinate patient appointments and follow-ups using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Assist with insurance forms, pre-authorizations, and billing inquiries as needed.
  • Attend and participate in continuing education programs and in-services.
  • Ensure proper documentation by entering resident information into electronic medical records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Be constantly aware of safety and follow up on identified risks. Respond to emergency calls on campus per protocol. Initiate and complete incident reports for any accidents, medication errors, emergency situations, etc.
  • Supervise and implement infection control measure and prevention to ensure compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
