About The Position

The Medical Assistant for LLUH PACE works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or physician in the Primary Care Clinic and Center to provide direct and indirect participant care within designated scope of practice. Assists with ensuring efficient clinic operation; utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service in a manner that supports the excellence in customer service, provides safe patient care, and professionalism; contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and participant population. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Successful completion of an approved Certified Medical Assistant
  • Medical Assistant certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Able to read
  • Able to write legibly
  • Able to speak in English with professional quality
  • Able to operate participant care equipment necessary to the position
  • Able to perform basic participant care activities using proper body mechanics and safety precautions
  • Able to use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Able to be assertive and consistent in following policies
  • Able to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure
  • Able to collaborate with healthcare team
  • Able to accept direction
  • Able to walk for long periods
  • Able to reach, twist and bend repeatedly
  • Able to sit, push, pull, crouch, stoop, stand, climb, balance, kneel, grasp
