About The Position

- Assists providers in performing office procedures and duties related to patient care and patient documentation - Assess the patient flow by identifying those areas or problems that are causing interruptions and resolves at point of check in/registration - Performs basic Medical Assistant functions - Acquire, update, and review for accuracy patient records and documents - Transcribes patient family history and any forms as needed - Reviews each patient orders for completeness and cancels any order not done prior to patient check out - Consistently rectifies patient inaccuracies and calls them to the Practice Manager attention - Reviews each patient referral and laboratory results for patients - Obtains patients waivers and consents at registration, using electronic medical record - Prepares examination rooms immediately after patient’s visits - Maintains rooms stocked with supplies and disinfected daily - Assures the patient is checked out and has been provided the Patient Summary Plan - Reviews the Patient Summary Plan to assure the patient clearly understands

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate
  • High School graduate or GED - MUST HAVE!
  • BLS certified (American Heart ONLY)
  • 2+ year experience in a medical environment
  • Primary Care experience
  • Knowledge of medical technology
  • Ability to maintain a professional and patient care oriented attitude
  • Ability to work independently
