About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to achieve certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, etc.).
  • Active medication aid and American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required.
  • One year of experience as a Medical Assistant, utilizing electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient care standards and practices.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA privacy rules.
  • Skill in communicating professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Skill in planning, organizing, and time management.
  • Skill in using a computer and various software, including EHR software, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient care services, including preparation for examinations and gathering patient information.
  • Perform vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures, documenting findings in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Ensure accurate documentation is maintained and relay instructions to patients.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and help ensure timely patient flow.
  • Collect specimens as required, adhering to appropriate protocols.
  • Complete requisitions, label, and route specimens according to clinic protocol.
  • Adhere to infection control standards, including hand hygiene and equipment disinfection.
  • Assist with special procedures and examinations following appropriate protocols.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of examination rooms and stock supplies as needed.
  • Complete and monitor required logs for equipment and medication.
  • Communicate with various service providers to coordinate patient needs.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to patient messages within set guidelines.
  • Complete medication refills in accordance with clinic protocol.
