About The Position

Gastro Health is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our collaborative team in Miami, FL. This role focuses on providing exceptional patient care in a supportive environment, with consistent hours and no weekend or evening shifts. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth patient flow and contributing to the overall well-being of patients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant (AAMA certification preferred).
• Medical terminology knowledge required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
• Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW): 1 year (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients, ensuring appropriate patient flow.
• Update patient's medical chart with accurate and timely documentation.
• Manage phone triage and take appropriate action under the direction of the provider.
• Demonstrate ability and appropriate technical skills when administering treatments and procedures in accordance with physician's orders.
• Provide patient education and personal patient care to address physiological and psychological needs.
• Process refills for prescriptions under the direction from providers, following clinic protocol.
• Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships with fellow clinic employees, managers, and providers.
• Initiate actions that allow cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care.
• Follow safety procedures in compliance with OSHA and state health department guidelines.
