About The Position

This position includes a $500 sign-on bonus! The role involves escorting patients to exam rooms, assisting in preparing them for healthcare providers, and performing various clinical tasks. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, assisting with physical and gynecological exams, performing minor laboratory tests, preparing and administering medications, scheduling patients for procedures, maintaining accurate clinical data, and ensuring a clean clinical environment. The job requires participation in team meetings and flexibility in work assignments.

Requirements

  • Completion of Medical Assistant program, with evidence of training in clinic procedures and duties.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
  • Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Possesses basic knowledge and skill appropriate to education/training.
  • Telephone and computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
  • Ability to function as a committed and reliable team member.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and or walk for an entire workday.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and or twist while holding up to 25 lbs. frequently.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year experience in a medical setting.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Escorts patients to exam room and assists in preparing the patient for the health care provider, including obtaining vital signs, height and weight measurements, and determining the reason(s) for the patient visit.
  • Assists the medical/nursing providers with physical exams, gynecological exams, minor surgery/suture placement or removal, wound care, LARC, EKG, nebulizer treatments, audio/tympanometry, and other procedures as requested.
  • Performs minor laboratory tests such as hemoglobin, blood glucose, urinalysis, strep, mono, and prepares laboratory specimens appropriately for analysis.
  • Prepares and administers medications including immunizations ordered by the provider or per protocol, and documents accurately in electronic health record (EHR).
  • Schedules patients for In-House procedures and assists with initiation of referrals to outside agencies/providers.
  • Updates EHR and maintains accurate clinical data with incoming medical reports.
  • Informs patients of lab and diagnostic test results as delegated by provider and provides limited patient education as directed.
  • Maintains clinical environment including cleaning and disinfecting exam rooms and participating in quality control assessments.
  • Enters orders appropriately for completed testing and health maintenance measures.
  • Maintains desktop and assists as delegated by Center Manager/Primary Care Coordinator.
