About The Position

The Medical Assistant at WellView Care plays a crucial role in providing quality health services to underserved individuals in the community. This position involves assisting the ARNP during examinations, taking vital signs, and ensuring patient information is accurately documented. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-year prior medical assistant experience, preferably in testing and treatment management.
• Bilingual skills are preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems is required (2 years).
• Phlebotomy experience is preferred (1 year).
• Current BLS Certification is preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pass patients from the lobby into the vitals examination area and to the appropriate exam room.
• Obtain and record vital signs, process phlebotomy, and document patients' chief complaints and ARNP evaluation notes in charts.
• Ensure all consents are signed by the patient before any procedures are performed.
• Create and manage labs ordered by the ARNP.
• Monitor and document patient symptoms during clinical exams.
• Accurately update and record patient medications, allergies, and history in charts during each visit.
• Review and complete daily tasks on the EMR system.
• Ensure exam rooms are fully supplied, clean, and ready for use before patient/provider entry.
• Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in processes, confirming identification and insurance.
• Update patient information as needed and ensure accuracy in insurance entry before services are rendered.
• Communicate with management to support patient treatment plans and comply with OSHA and HIPAA policies.
• Provide compassionate patient support during office visits and maintain confidentiality.
