About The Position

Under the supervision of the Team Lead Nurse, the Medical Assistant provides direct clinical services to patients by performing basic patient care tasks. These tasks include but are not limited to, vital signs, triage, pre visit planning, room cleaning and stocking, phone calls, record reviews, referrals and EMR documentation. They will support patient centered medical home model of care (PCMH).

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program preferred.
• Phlebotomy training preferred.
• Completion of Medical Assistant externship required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in primary health care or other health care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care tasks including vital signs and triage.
• Conduct pre-visit planning and room cleaning and stocking.
• Handle phone calls and record reviews.
• Manage referrals and EMR documentation.
• Support the patient centered medical home model of care (PCMH).
