About The Position

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Certification of completion of Medical Assistant Program required.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

  • Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients and measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Record information on patients' charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
  • Drape patients with covering and position instruments and equipment.
  • Hand instruments and materials to the doctor as directed.
  • Inventory and order medical supplies and materials.
  • Operate electrocardiograph (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
  • Schedule patients for tests and appointments.
  • Receive payments for bills and keep medical records.
  • Perform secretarial tasks and complete insurance forms.
  • Key data into the computer to maintain office and patient records.
