About The Position

Banner Health is currently looking for a full-time Medical Assistant in Sterling, Colorado. This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as implementing and evaluating direct patient care. The Medical Assistant will prepare patients for exams and treatments, take and record vital signs, assist providers with exams and minor procedures, coordinate patient care, and maintain a clean and functional environment. The role requires multitasking and excellent communication skills to ensure an amazing patient experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with office medical procedures and treatments.
• Knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software.
• Additional related education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms, and other necessary measurements.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures.
• Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling.
• Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation.
• Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment and exam rooms.
• Orders supplies as directed and stocks patient care areas.
• Develops and maintains effective communication with all external and internal customers.
• Completes all necessary onboarding/orientation activities.
