About The Position

Requirements

• CPR Certification
• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Medical Assistant
• Entry level with under 1 year of experience

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant, preferred but not required.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred but not required.
• COVID vaccination.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to and from exam rooms.
• Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtains all necessary patient records as required by physician prior to treatment or procedures.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
• Performs phlebotomy.
• Performs EKG's and places heart monitors.
• Maintains all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Processes instruments and equipment as needed.
• Answers patient telephone calls and phones in prescriptions as required or directed by physicians.
• Schedules patient tests, procedures, and hospital admissions, and appointments to follow-up on test results.
• Obtains new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc.
• Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed.
