About The Position

This is a combined posting for Associate Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant Registered and Medical Assistant. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. The MA I works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. An MA I is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. The Journey Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A Journey MA-R performs all aspects of the Associate MA-R role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. A Journey MA-R is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. $2,500 Sign-on Bonus for eligible rehire and external candidates who meet all conditions for payment - this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.

Requirements

  • Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire for Associate Medical Assistant.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire for all positions.
  • Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months) for Associate Medical Assistant.
  • Washington Medical Assistant Registration within 60 days of hire for Medical Assistant Registered.
  • 6 months of healthcare experience for Medical Assistant Registered.
  • 6 months of Medical Assistant experience for Medical Assistant Registered and Medical Assistant.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants or alternate training program for Associate Medical Assistant.
  • 6 months prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment for Associate Medical Assistant.
  • 6 months previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR) for Associate Medical Assistant.
  • Coursework/Training: Medical Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Medical Secretary or Health Unit Coordinator/Clerk for Medical Assistant Registered.
  • Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants, or an equivalent combination of coursework, experience/training to qualify to sit for a National Certification exam for Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients under the delegation of a licensed practitioner.
  • Perform both administrative and clinical duties as required.
  • Meet established policies, procedures, and regulations.
