We specialize in conditions that affect the bladder, kidneys, prostate and male genitals. With early diagnosis and treatment, survival rates for prostate cancer are greater than 90 percent. As a Medical Assistant on this team, you will collaborate with fellow staff to create a welcoming, comfortable environment for patients, families and visitors in the Urology department. You will assist with medication management, patient monitoring, administrative tasks, and more. All your work helps ensure the best possible health outcomes. Additionally, you will receive ample opportunities to enhance your skills, gain hands-on experience, and explore advanced positions at Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 4:30PM or 8:30AM – 5:00PM.

Requirements

Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within new hire period
Military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered
Completion of a clinical externship OR extensive clinical experience
Current demonstrated clinical proficiency

Nice To Haves

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification
Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship

Responsibilities

Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens and documenting patient care.
Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
Administer specific medications under the direction of the provider.
Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.
Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
