About The Position

The Medical Assistant position at Presbyterian Healthcare Services is a part-time role focused on providing primary support to healthcare providers in an urgent care setting. Requirements

  • Six months of Medical Assistant experience or successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school required.
  • Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • BLS Certification required at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized training in clinical medical skills from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary support to the provider by anticipating needs and preparing patients for visits.
  • Maintain efficient patient flow and assist the provider with treatments and procedures.
  • Administer approved medications under the supervision of the provider.
  • Perform clerical functions including scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations.
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, safe, and well-organized patient care environment.
  • Provide in-basket support with the EMR.
