About The Position

The Medical Assistant at Xpress Urgent Care plays a crucial role in supporting the clinic's operations by assisting with both administrative and clinical duties. This position is essential for ensuring high-quality patient care and maintaining efficient clinic workflows. The Medical Assistant is responsible for obtaining accurate patient records, coordinating daily tasks, and providing exemplary customer service while embodying the mission of the organization.

Requirements

  • Certification from a medical assistant program is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • CPR/BLS certification is preferred.
  • One to two years of experience in the medical field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of government CMS regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is required.
  • Organizational skills with a focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow are necessary.
  • Computer literacy, specifically in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), is required.
  • Knowledge of eClinicalWorks electronic medical records system is a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
  • Experience with EMR systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining and recording accurate patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Ensuring all related reports, labs, and documents are filed and available in the patient's medical chart prior to their visit.
  • Coordinating daily administrative and clinical activities, including scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, and patient medical record maintenance.
  • Preparing and sterilizing treatment rooms for clinical examinations and assisting providers with medical procedures and other patient care.
  • Preparing patient charts prior to patient visits.
  • Keeping exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintaining instruments, preparing sterilization as required, and maintaining tidiness.
  • Delivering compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
