About The Position
POSITION SUMMARY A medical assistant functions under the direction, guidance, and supervision of a licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or RN. A medical assistant assists in coordinating all aspects of the care received in the Urgent Care setting.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program. In lieu of a Medical Assistant course, recent completion of one year formal RN program.
- Urgent care experience preferred.
- Vitals, triage categories, medication administration, splinting, competency in lab and radiology orders, knowledge of medication rotation and record keeping.
- Current BLS card from American Heart Association (AHA).
- EKG machine, blood pressure machine, otoscope, oxygen tank, stethoscope, nebulizer, glucose meter, thermometer, pulse-oximeter, Omnicell medication dispensing cabinet, computer, copy machine, fax Machine, and scanner.
- Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
