At HonorHealth, the Medical Assistant is part of a team dedicated to creating a multi-dimensional care experience for patients. HonorHealth is one of Arizona’s largest nonprofit healthcare systems, serving a population of five million people in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, with nearly 17,000 team members. The comprehensive network includes six acute-care hospitals, an extensive medical group with primary, specialty and urgent care services, a cancer care network, outpatient surgery centers, clinical research, medical education, a foundation, an accountable care organization, and community services. The Medical Assistant provides general front and back office support to professional staff, escorts patients to exam rooms, and maintains clean, neat, and well-stocked exam rooms. This role requires knowledge of medical front and back office procedures, providing quality phone service, managing patient information and medical records, and performing duties related to patient examination and treatment under the direction of a Provider. The MA takes a proactive approach, utilizing available resources to serve the patient population, and performs clerical support duties including reception, telephone, scheduling, message management, and data input. The Medical Assistant utilizes knowledge and skill to provide appropriate care in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, protocols, and Arizona validated competencies, working in a team model to improve patient experience, communication, access to care, and satisfaction.
