About The Position
Brigham and Women's Harbor Medical Associates, a member of Mass General Brigham Medical Group, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for our Fast Care/Urgent Care Center located in Pembroke, MA. This role is essential in providing timely medical care to patients who require urgent attention but are not facing emergencies. Our center operates seven days a week, and the Medical Assistant will be expected to work 36 hours per week, including weekday shifts, coverage every other weekend, and some holidays. The Medical Assistant will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care. In this position, the Medical Assistant will have the opportunity to work autonomously while also being an integral part of the care team. Responsibilities will include ensuring efficient patient flow through the office, assisting during office visits by rooming patients, taking vitals, and supporting examinations and procedures. The Medical Assistant will also perform clinically appropriate tasks related to patient panel management, which includes administrative support, making phone calls, handling test results, prior authorizations, and coordinating care. Maintaining clean, stocked, and safe exam rooms and patient care areas is also a critical part of the role. Interacting with patients and their families in a professional and courteous manner is essential, as our staff strives to provide compassion and emotional support to patients who may not be feeling their best.
