About The Position
The position involves assisting the physician in assessing the needs of patients through various methods including history collection, observation, physical exams, telephone triage, and analysis of diagnostic results. The role includes performing direct patient care tasks such as triage, assessment, procedures, treatments, patient education, discharge, and follow-up instructions. The medical assistant prepares patients for their appointments and collects pertinent information, including vital signs and chief complaints, documenting this information accurately in the patient's medical record. Additionally, the role requires performing specialized tests, preparing and administering medications as ordered, assisting providers with treatments, scheduling appointments, and conducting follow-up calls to patients. The medical assistant is also responsible for maintaining a clean and organized examination environment, managing medical supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functional. The position promotes a positive image of the practice and encourages patient engagement with the MyChart system for communication.
