About The Position

The Medical Assistant 2 at CenterWell Senior Primary Care serves as the first point of contact for patient care, responsible for both administrative and clinical duties. This role involves performing various activities, including taking vital signs, administering injections, and maintaining electronic medical records. The Medical Assistant collaborates closely with physicians and nurses to deliver direct patient care while adhering to established policies and quality standards.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program or 5+ years of experience with provider approval.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR Certified.
• Ability to pass TB screening as this role is patient-facing.

Nice To Haves

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification (specific states may require this).
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Experience in medication/vaccine administration.
• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Knowledge of Value Based Care, HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties such as discussing symptoms and gathering patient information.
• Input information into the electronic medical records system.
• Take vital signs and administer injections.
• Perform diagnostic tests and collect specimens.
• Draw blood and sterilize equipment.
• Maintain examination rooms at the outpatient care site.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to deliver patient care.
• Interpret area/department policies and methods for completing assignments.
