The IU Health Medical Assistant Trainee Program will be holding its next cohort from July 13th-September 11th. The goal of this program is to train new Medical Assistants (MAs) for employment at IU Health and reinforce its values and expectations. IU Health supports team member growth by covering program tuition and providing dedicated time to complete training. As a Medical Assistant Trainee, you will complete the Medical Assistant Education Program that includes 140 hours minimum of in-person & online classes, online modules, weekly quizzes or assessments, in-person simulation instruction, check offs and 160 hours minimum of supervised, clinical practicum. Experience and gain knowledge in the following areas: Anatomy and Physiology, Infection Control, Vital signs, Medication Administration, Billing and Coding, and Clinical procedures. At the completion of the courses, a national certification exam will need to be passed in order to become a Certified Medical Assistant. Once all requirements are achieved, the trainee will graduate and be able to transfer to an open MAII position within IU Health.
