About The Position

The Medical Assistant at TJHP ENT assists providers in exams and office procedures, maintains supply inventory in exam rooms, cleans and sterilizes equipment, and draws blood. This role also involves assisting with front office functions and serving as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and providers. The Medical Assistant collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes, utilizing knowledge of the patient's age and cultural diversity in the provision of care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate from a recognized training facility for medical assistants is required.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Required to pass certification exam within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum of one year medical assistant experience in a physician's office setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers in patient exams and minor office procedures as required.
• Maintains supply inventory in exam rooms.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment.
• Draws blood and performs point of care labs.
• Prepares patients for examinations/procedures as directed by the provider.
• Collects historical medical data and measures vital signs.
• Maintains documentation that is detailed, clearly stated, objective, and accurate.
• Communicates with patients any instructions given by the provider.
• Scribes for the provider.
• Performs simple non-sterile wound care/dressing changes.
• Accurately obtains and enters patient information into the Medical Record database.
• Assists patients in scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling appointments.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Participates in staff meetings and in-services.
