About The Position

Canyon Vista Medical Center is a 106 bed Joint Commission Accredited facility offering a number of specialty services. We are proud to serve our community with a Level III Trauma unit, Center of Excellence for Total Joint Replacement, Level I Nursery, and many other state of the art services to ensure our patients are cared for. This Medical Assistant position will be working for Sierra Vista Medical Group, providing customer-focused quality healthcare to family health patient populations and meeting their diverse health and social needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Certification of completion of Medical Assistant Program required.
• Must obtain CPR within 90 days of hire.
• 1 to 2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, recording information on patients' charts.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
• Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
• Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
• Schedules patients for tests and appointments.
• Receives payments for bills and keeps x-ray and other medical records.
• Performs secretarial tasks and completes insurance forms.
• May key data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
