About The Position

The Medical Assistant Student position is part of a paid training program at Salina Regional Health Center in collaboration with Barton Community College. This role involves assisting in clinical settings under the supervision of healthcare professionals while pursuing an online Medical Assistant program. The position aims to provide quality patient care and prepare the student for certification as a Registered Medical Assistant upon completion of the program.

Requirements

• Completion of High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of CMA coursework within two years of hire.
• Completion of Certified Nursing Assistant training.
• Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years Nurse Assistant Experience Preferred
• Certified Nurse Aide preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist departments in clinical settings to provide quality care.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Take vital signs and transport patients.
• Provide clerical support and perform observation to prevent patient injury.
• Help professional nurses with interventions.
• Interact with other departments as needed.
• Perform cleaning and restock supplies under supervision.
