Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of medical assisting duties under the direction of the Office Manager, Clinical Coordinator, or designee.
  • Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
  • Facilitate efficient flow of patients through the clinic or medical office.
  • Communicate with patients regarding test results, surgery schedules, and procedures.
  • Utilize an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other related software to update and/or access patient information.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in Medical Assistant track at a technical high school and status qualifies for cooperative program.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Prior experience in using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and/or health-related computer software is preferred.
  • Completion of three (3) years of medical assistance program in technical school and eligibility criteria met for cooperative program is required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement.
