About The Position

THIS POSITIONS TRAVELS WITH OUR SPORTS MEDICINE DOCTOR TO FREEHOLD, PRINCETON, LAWRENCEVILLE, AND MARLTON. Key responsibilities of a medical assistant may include: Clinical duties: Taking patient medical histories Preparing patients for exams by explaining procedures and gathering necessary equipment Assisting with minor procedures like wound care, suture removal, and injections as directed by a physician Drawing blood for lab tests (phlebotomy) Monitoring patients during procedures Administrative duties: Scheduling patient appointments and managing patient flow Maintaining accurate medical records, both electronic and paper Answering phone calls and managing patient inquiries Preparing and updating patient charts Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the exam rooms and medical supplies

Requirements

  • Completion of a certified medical assistant program
  • Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or other relevant credential
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients effectively
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Proficiency with computer systems and electronic health records (EHR)
