Requirements

• Must either have six months experience as a Medical Assistant, OR, have graduated from an accredited MA or Medical Office Management program that meets nationally accepted standards.
• Ability to communicate and relate well with office staff, ancillary departments and public.
• Ability to follow direction, accept orders, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Must be patient, courteous, and tactful.
• Computer literate in use of word processing and email.
• May be hired with six months of experience as a STNA, Nursing Assistant or PCA but are not able to administer medication or enter Epic orders until competency demonstration has occurred.

Responsibilities

• Assists and delivers patient care duties under the supervision of the physician and/or practice manager.
• Takes blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
• Stocks rooms with adequate medical supplies, washes and dries instruments, and prepares sterilization as required.
• Keeps medical records in accordance to procedures and forms.
• Follows principles of medical ethics.
• Performs any other duties relating to the business operation of the medical practice as assigned by the physician(s) or practice office manager.
