About The Position

Cleveland Clinic’s Sleep Disorders Center, established in 1978, was among the first in the nation dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of sleep and wake disorders across the entire age spectrum. Accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the Sleep Disorders Center provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care with specialists in Neurology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Psychiatry and Psychology, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and Otolaryngology, with a total of 126 caregivers. As a Medical Assistant on this team, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, families, and visitors. You’ll work collaboratively with fellow staff to support medication management, patient monitoring, and a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. Requirements

• Graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program or Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1).
• Completion of a clinical externship (Extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal clinical externship).
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (within new hire period).
• Current demonstrated clinical proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist with performing screenings and treatments by gathering and updating information related to health maintenance, identifying medication changes, updating allergy information, collecting specimens, performing tests and documenting patient care.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies and examination areas.
• Perform administrative/clerical duties, such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
• Send CPAP orders and obtain compliance documentation.
• Maintain inbox, compliance downloads, and CPAP order tracking.
