About The Position

Primary Responsibilities/Requirements: Medical Assistant Duties: Perform general nursing duties in a busy orthopedic practice Perform suture/staple removal Perform wound care/dressing changes Drawing up meds; calling in medications Application of sterile fields Applying and removing casts and splints and fitting of orthotics Locate any necessary films, test results, and/or reports for upcoming appointments Schedule and precert tests, procedures and surgeries Prepare exam rooms, restock supplies for clinic, power up computers, etc. Prepare charts for clinic and print out patient information as requested by physician Assist with verifying pre-op labs and scheduling surgery clearances as needed Assist other physician team members as needed Travel to satellite offices in local area as needed Fill out disability, return-to-work and insurance forms Obtain physician signature on miscellaneous forms Friendly and Professional patient communication when answering and returning patient phone calls, providing various forms of patient education and handouts, escorting patients to and from exam rooms, appointment/surgery reminder calls, responding to and chart patient messages and communicating test results to patients with direction from physician Scribe Duties: Accurately and efficiently document the patient history, physical examination, family, social history, and past medical history per the discussion between patient and physician as well as any test results and imaging findings in EMR system. Accompany physician in patient examination Assist other team members as needed. Must also possess: Previous medical scribe skills preferred Ability to communicate effectively with patients, TOC physicians and staff Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in very busy clinical setting Outstanding organizational, verbal and writing skills Independent and highly motivated Exhibit initiative and self-discipline Proven positive, “teamwork” attitude and work history Experience with surgical patients preferred Clinical experience required, orthopedic experience a plus Physical Demands: Must be able to use arms, hands, and fingers skillfully Frequent moving, pushing, pulling of heavy patients and/or equipment Constant standing and walking for long periods of time Must be agile and able to work efficiently in space limited areas Consistently work at a productive pace Must readily adapt to frequent treatment schedule changes To apply please visit: https://www.visittoc.com/about-us/careers/
