Requirements

  • Highschool Graduate or equivalent.
  • Current certification or registration as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) required or must be obtained within first month of employment.
  • Must maintain current Basic Life Support (CPR).
  • Graduate of an accredited course of study as a Medical Office Assistant preferred or five years of direct patient care experience in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Ability to display initiative, multitask, and assume additional responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to problem solve and be a team member.

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care in a physician's office setting under the direct responsibility of a licensed physician.
  • Assists the physician with documentation for patient's medical chart.
  • Performs clinical skills within the scope of a Medical Assistant as defined by Florida Statutes 458.3485 and CFH Clinical Policy and Procedure.
  • May perform clerical, insurance, and medical record functions.
  • May be required to float to other practices, as needed, for staffing.
