About The Position
The Medical Assistant/Scribe position at UnityPoint Health in Rock Island is a full-time role focused on supporting the pulmonology department. This position is integral to the clinic's operations, providing essential assistance to healthcare providers and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic. The working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule without the need for holiday shifts. The role includes a variety of responsibilities, such as preparing patients for examinations, assisting with minor surgical procedures, and managing follow-up appointments. The Medical Assistant/Scribe will also be responsible for data entry, including CPT and ICD-9 coding, and will play a key role in patient education by answering questions and providing necessary information to patients and their families. In addition to clinical duties, the Medical Assistant/Scribe will facilitate communication between providers and ancillary services, ensuring that patient care is coordinated effectively. This position requires a strong understanding of the anatomical impacts related to pulmonology, as well as the ability to monitor disease status and support patients through their treatment journeys.
