The Medical Assistant/Clinical Office Coordinator performs a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant scope of care which may include but is not limited to injections, EKGS, ear lavage and blood draws, performing patient vital signs, rooming patients, doing pre-visit preparation and participating in huddles with providers. The Medical Assistant will assist with the patient visit and also post-visit duties, scheduling follow up care, calling for prior authorizations and referral consults. The Medical Assistant will assist in triaging calls from patients and communicating patient concerns in EMR to the provider. The Medical Assistant will assist in managing the workflow of the schedule, ensuring patients are being seen in a timely manner and communicating to the providers any schedule changes that impact patient flow. The Medical Assistant may assist with front office activities and varied scheduling tasks when necessary.
