About The Position

The Medical Assistant-Radiology provides clinical and administrative support for the Pre-Anesthesia Consultation and workup process for Imaging Exams or Procedures. They deliver age-appropriate patient care for both pediatric and adult patients in the outpatient setting. Responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, obtaining vital signs, assisting with transfers and positioning, maintaining exam rooms, transporting patients, and completing related documentation. They use electronic systems to ensure accurate records, support efficient radiology operations, and maintain a safe, professional environment.

Requirements

  • Completion of Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program
  • completion of School of Nursing fundamentals required or completion of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate; accept direction
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail
  • Able to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens and written documents necessary to position
  • Medical Assistant certification, Medical Assistant diploma, or Certified Nursing Assistant or other healthcare training certificate required (EMT); exception: completion of School of Nursing fundamentals
  • Basic life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the clinic or acute care setting preferred.
