About The Position

The Medical Assistant in Radiation Oncology at Lynn Cancer Institute works under the clinical supervision of the practice physician(s) and clinic supervisor/manager. This role is responsible for assisting the physicians in the practice, which includes examining and treating patients, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and recording information in patients' charts/Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The Medical Assistant also collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis and serves as a mentor to help train new medical assistants. The estimated pay range for this position is $17.53 - $24.90 per hour depending on experience.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (Cert, GED, Trn, Exper).
• Must have at least one of the required licenses/certifications (MA, CNA, LPN, EMT, Paramedic).
• BLS certification required.
• CNA, LPN, EMT license must be from Florida.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment efficiently.
• Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual preferred.
• Knowledge of Health Care regulatory guidelines and Medical Terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in examination and treatment of patients.

• Measure vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, pulse oximeter, pain level, weight, and height).
• Record information on patients' charts/Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
