Our pulmonary program features state-of-the-art technologies and facilities and has a collaborative team model approach as each member of the team works closely together providing advanced patient care. Position Purpose: Medical Assistants (MA) assist in providing excellent patient care by assisting physicians/physician assistants/nurse practitioners in medical office settings. Performs a variety of patient care duties within the construct of a multidisciplinary patient care team as delegated by the physician.

Requirements

  • High School or Equivalent
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
  • Must meet one of the following three criteria:
  • Has attended an accredited Medical Assistant training program by one of the following:
  • The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools
  • If your Medical Assistant program was not accredited by one of the above agencies, you will need to have a Medical Assistant Certification issued by one of the following. If needed, we will assist you in obtaining a CCMA certification.
  • National Healthcareer Association: CCMA
  • American Medical Technologist: RMA
  • American Association of Medical Assistants: AAMA
  • National Center for Competency Testing: NCMA
  • American Medical Certification Association: CMAC
  • Has completed a medical services training program of the Armed Forces of the United States
  • Able to distinguish appropriate colors, ability to work above or below shoulder level, life to 50 pounds, and walk or be on feet 90% of the day.
  • Expected duties have routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, to chemicals, biological, and radioactive substances
