The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physicians, PA, or NP with clerical duties, patient flow, patient care, and procedures. The MA prepares the examination room, escorts patients, cleans the examination room post-exam, maintains efficient patient flow, and ensures proper preparation for patient visits. They communicate and provide care consistent with the age, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of the patient. The MA also answers the telephone, directs calls, schedules appointments, stocks examination rooms, reconciles encounters, and communicates issues to the Supervisor or Manager. They obtain vital signs, document in the EHR, manage medication lists, and adhere to safety precautions when administering medications. The MA demonstrates flexibility with various work schedules and performs other duties as assigned.
