Fortis College in Columbia SC is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Program Director for the Medical Assisting program. We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic leader to manage the Medical Assisting program. This is a full-time, professional position reporting directly to the [Dean/Director] of Education. As the leader of the program, the Program Director is responsible for managing the department using sound business principles and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and company policies and procedures. This position requires some evening and Saturday hours. The Program Director teaches in his/her assigned discipline, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s), is the lead administrator for the department, and, as such, is responsible for faculty training and development, coordinating and administering the academic program(s) and student outcomes and activities within the department.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Medical Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma is required in addition to an Associate degree
  • Expertise in interpersonal and verbal presentation/written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide effective direction and leadership, and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Prior postsecondary-related teaching experience of at least 2 years.
  • Associate degree or bachelor degree in Allied Health or similar discipline as required by accrediting and licensing agency standards.
  • Certifications: CMA and/or CCMA and/or RMA
