About The Position

This position is incentive eligible. MD Now, part of HCA Healthcare, offers an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant PRN. The role involves providing expertise and championing patient care in a supportive team environment. As a Medical Assistant, you will prepare patients for examination and treatment, maintain exam and treatment rooms, assist with injections and lab testing, and coordinate patient care. The position may require travel between MD Now locations.

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred
• Experience using an EHR system is very helpful
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is helpful
• Ability to obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Certificate, or Work Experience in lieu of Degree, or Vocational School Graduate

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and maintain supplies and equipment
• Administer injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs
• Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts
• Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians and practitioners
• Willing to travel/float between all MD Now locations within assigned area
