The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visits and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice. As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices.

Requirements

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years
• 2+ years of experience strongly preferred
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider with facilitation of patient visits and procedures
• Conduct routine laboratory tests
• Manage referrals and quality outcomes for the practice population
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use, including cleaning and stocking supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of the provider's caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
• Document care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient's chief complaint and available protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
