About The Position

This position is for our Float Pool in the Logan area. Clinic hours will depend on where caregiver picks up a shift. Generally, the hours are from 7:00am-5:00pm. Caregivers selected for this role will pick up open shifts as they are available to provide coverage for other caregivers or clinics experiencing high volumes. A minimum of 1 day a week is required, but caregivers could work up to 40 hours a week if they wanted to. We cover the entire Logan/Cache area including the Bear River Clinic and they will be expected to cover at all of the clinics. As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care. Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program (certification must be provided upon hire).
  • At least one year of Medical Assistant experience (verified upon hire) or current RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers, must be obtained prior to start date.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
  • Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
  • Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
  • Current national MA certification from one of the following: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA.

Responsibilities

  • Providing care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient's visit and condition.
  • Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.
  • Working with cross-functional teams to collaborate on patient care.
  • Attention to detail and follow-through in providing the necessary care.
