About The Position

A Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health is responsible for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. This role involves clear communication with patients through various modalities, including telephone and in-person interactions. As a Medical Assistant, you will support the clinical team and ensure patients receive the best care by assisting providers in gathering relevant patient information. Requirements

• Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers (must be obtained prior to start date)
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction

Nice To Haves

• Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting
• Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software
• Current national MA certification from one of the following national MA certifications or registrations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA

Responsibilities

• Providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting

• Assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition
• Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care
• Protecting privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers
