The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting physicians and healthcare teams by performing various clinical and administrative tasks. This position involves ensuring smooth patient flow, managing healthcare data, and, if assigned to the Call Center, handling patient calls and scheduling appointments. The Medical Assistant is essential in delivering quality patient care and maintaining operational efficiency within the healthcare setting.

  • Perform clinical and administrative duties in the Front Office or Back Office.
  • Gather, organize, and document healthcare data information.
  • Ensure smooth patient flow within the department.
  • Answer and route patient calls if assigned to the Call Center.
  • Schedule patient appointments according to department guidelines.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • 1 year of experience in an ambulatory setting (preferred).
  • 1 year of experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) (preferred).
  • BLS - Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (required).
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (preferred).
  • Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual skills (preferred).
  • Completion and documentation of California requirements for venipuncture/phlebotomy (preferred for specific departments).
