About The Position

Requirements

  • Six months of healthcare experience is required.
  • One year of medical terminology experience is required.
  • Knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard is required.
  • Experience in clinical pharmacology is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from a medical assisting degree/program is preferred.
  • One year of healthcare/medical - primary care/office experience is preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the clinical environment is cleaned, stocked, and ready for patient care.
  • Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens for transport to labs.
  • Conduct simple laboratory procedures and take vital signs.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and assist with patient flow.
  • Provide general clinical support to physicians and other staff.
  • Answer phones, make appointments, and collect co-pays and payments.
  • Assist with billing and add information to the electronic medical record.
