Toledo Clinic's Internal Medicine office, Primary Care Partners, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (RMA/CMA/CCMA) to triage patient phone calls. This position will work M-F, 8:30-5:00 in the phone room. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

  • Answer patient telephone calls related to medical questions.
  • Interact with physicians to get answers to patient questions and relay the information to patients.
  • Refill medications
  • Handle prior authorizations
  • At the request of the physician, call in prescriptions
  • Perform various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, etc.).
  • Follow up with lab work and/or xrays.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Excellent telephone skills required. 90% of this position requires talking on the telephone.
  • Medical background to be able to triage patient questions appropriately
  • Medical Terminology
  • Attention to detail and being conscientious to follow up with patients
  • Must be able to work quickly and accurately
  • Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
  • Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
  • Adheres to all Toledo Clinic policies and procedures.
  • Medical Assistant credential - RMA/CMA/CCMA
  • Previous medical office experience helpful.
  • $2,000 Sign-On Bonus
  • $2,000 Retention Bonus after one year of service
