The work we do building families offers stimulation, challenge, and personal reward. We have an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant/Front Desk to join our team in Leesburg, Virginia. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 1-2 weekends and holidays per year in our Fairfax, Virginia office. This position is 50% Medical Assistant and 50% Medical Front Desk. Requirements

  • Strong phlebotomy skills required
  • High School diploma
  • Completion of a formal MA program
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required
  • Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology

Responsibilities

  • High volume of phlebotomy
  • Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
  • Assists with the clinical care of fertility patients
  • Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
  • Provides patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicates physician orders and instructions
  • Provides pre and post op education
  • Perform semen washes and sets up for IUIs
  • Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
  • Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
  • Checks patients in/out, answers phones, schedules appointments, and collects payments
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients’ families
  • Works independently to assure the program goals are achieved
  • Support and promote excellence in customer service
