The community healthcare center in Haverhill, located at 1 Park Way, provides advanced diagnostics, technology, and research, offering unparalleled acute, chronic, and wellness care through a multi-specialty group practice. This full-time 40-hour Medical Assistant position supports the Pediatrics team by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow, involving direct patient interaction and collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to ensure efficient and comfortable care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • 1-2 years of direct MA experience or medical field work
  • Positive attitudes, emotional intelligence, and genuine passion for this work
  • Adaptable, receptive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
  • Show patients to examination rooms and prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers.
  • Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
  • Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms. Acts as a liaison with other departments and advocates for patients with a positive customer service approach.
  • Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean and supplies stocked.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
