Their community healthcare center in Haverhill offers the latest in diagnostics, technology, and research, providing unparalleled acute, chronic, and wellness care across a broad range of medical sub-specialties. They are seeking a full-time 40-hour Medical Assistant to support their Pediatrics team. This role involves assisting healthcare teams with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. The position requires direct interaction with patients to ensure comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care. The desired schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm onsite, with an occasional required Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am to 12:00pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
  • Certified Medical Assistant - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred
  • Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 year preferred
  • Positive attitudes, emotional intelligence, and genuine passion for this work
  • Adaptable, receptive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
  • Show patients to examination rooms and prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers.
  • Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
  • Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms. Acts as a liaison with other departments and advocates for patients with a positive customer service approach.
  • Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean and supplies stocked.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
