About The Position

Christie Clinic's Float Department is seeking a part-time (24 hours/week) Medical Assistant/Patient Service Representative (Quarterly Bonuses Available) between the hours of Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements. Duties include performance of skills through the delivery of patient care using a systematic patient assessment. Previous healthcare experience and Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate and/or graduation from an accredited program for medical assistants is preferred. This candidate must be able to travel to all Christie Clinic locations within a 60-mile radius of Champaign, Illinois with reimbursement for mileage and travel time (per IRS guidelines). Quarterly bonus opportunity available for team members in good standing after 90 days of employment with the Float Team.

Responsibilities

Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to appointment.
Clean and restock rooms at the end of the day.
Perform chart preparation according to department standards.
Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.
Appropriate use of flag system per standard work.
Review and respond to the electronic medical record work list per department standard work.
Complete lab order entries and appropriately handle patient specimens (including communication to patient per department standard work), as needed.
Assists providers with procedures/surgery, as needed.
Assist in patient education relating to medication instructions, procedures, wound care or any other necessary information pertaining to patient care.
Attend a minimum of two monthly huddles (occurring after hours) per quarter.
Perform related work as required.
Travel to satellite Christie Clinic locations to cover departmental needs.
