Medical Assistant, Outpatient (Full-Time, Day Shift)
About The Position
Located in a tight-knit community in Kings County, Adventist Health Hanford has been serving the Central Valley since 1965. We are comprised of a 173-bed hospital and many outpatient clinics with primary and specialty care services. Hanford residents are proud of their city's historic charm and family-friendly atmosphere. Within an hour's travel time, Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks can be enjoyed. Job Summary: Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife.
Requirements
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
- Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Medical Assistant - NCCT (NCCT) or Certified Medical Assistant- NHA (CMA-NHA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or American Medical Tech Board MA (MA-AMT): Required
Nice To Haves
- Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP
- Phlebotomy certificate
Responsibilities
- Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients.
- Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers.
- Obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician.
- Performs audiometry and vision testing.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
